FINALS FOR THIRD TIME!!!
"Gotta Make Things Right" from the latest self titled Chris Fitz Band CD has been chosen by the ISC Panel as a finalist in the Blues Category. This time around Chris features his stripped down back porch Robert Johnsonesque chops on the National Steel Guitar.
Chris' previous entries to the ISC "Never Been To Memphis" and "This Is My Church" also reached the finals with "Memphis" placing third overall.
The final results will be anounced the first week of February.

The ISC is one of the worlds most prestigious songwriting competitions with close to 100,000 entries world wide being judged by some of music's greatist artists and record executives.

ABOUT THE NEW CD
All otrThis CD, simply titled Chris Fitz Band is far and away the best thing we have ever done! Recorded and mixed "Live" at Lakewest Studio in West Greenwhich R.I. with the highly touted Jack Gauthier, who has recorded Duke Robillard, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Sugar Ray Norcia, John Hammond (for which he has a grammy nomination) to name only a few, this is a "back to basics" "in your face" good old fashion Rock-N-Roll/Gutbucket Guitar record!! With Greg Silva on Bass, Chuck Schuler on Drums, and the always amazing Ken Clark on Hammond B3 Organ, this record contains 15 new songs written by Chris Fitz running the gamut from flat out Blues Rock ala' Led Zeppelin/Jimi Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughan to Foot Tapping Rockabilly, to stripped down Back Porch Foot in the Bucket Blues ala' Mississippi John Hurt, Fred McDowell, and Robert Johnson, to James Brown inspired Funk. This record has a little something for everyone and is loaded with the same energy that the Chris Fitz Band has been famous for in their live shows for years. For guitar lovers, it's a feeding frenzy!!!

CALL IN AND REQUEST SONGS FROM THE NEW CD
The new CD has been getting regular airplay on Carter Allen's Sunday Morning Blues on 100.7 FM WZLX, Holly Harris' Blues on Sunday Night on 92.9 FM WBOS as well as several other stations around New England and beyond, and our fans continue to buy it up at all our shows. Since it's release in May we have sold several hundred at our shows and we are on pace to sell more this year than ever. The feedback has been amazing, and I often hear from our great fans that "your new CD has not been out of my CD player since I bought it!" So if you have not been out to a show recently to hear the band and get the new CD you need to do so soon.

CHRIS FITZ BAND HOME FROM MEMPHIS!
As winners of the 2005 Boston Blues Challenge, the Chris Fitz Band was truly honored to represent the Boston Blues Society and most importantly all the great fans around Boston and New England at the recent 2006 International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tenessee. Although we did not come home with the trophy, we are proud to have been invited to participate along with 130 acts from all over the world. Considering the thousands of bands world wide, to be among the 130 chosen to come to Memphis was the real trophy! Along with meeting all kinds of great musicians, playing two phenomonal shows, eating pounds of delicious barbecue, and going to Graceland, the most rewarding part of the Memphis experience was the amazing amount of support from all our great fans, friends and family. We express our heartfelt thanks to all the travelers who made the trip to Memphis and rooted us on with all their might! Also, our appreciation goes out to all those who couldn't be there in person but were with us in spirit, and also to everyone who was so kind to help with donations to make the trip possible. All of your amazing support not just for this trip but through all these years has made the journey of the Chris Fitz Band an incredibly rewarding one, and our appreciation cannot be overstated, thank you!!!

HOLLYWOOD FILM MAKERS

HIRE THE CHRIS FITZ BAND!
On April 6th, 2005, Bobby and Peter Farrelly hired the Chris Fitz Band to perform at the Premier VIP party for their new movie FEVER PITCH starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. The Farrelly Brothers are known for such movies as "Something About Mary," "Dumb and Dumber," and "Me, Myself, and Irene." The party was a star-studded affair and was held at Avalon in Boston following festivities at Fenway Park and the premier screening of the movie. The party was catered by some of Boston's top restaurants and was attended by Hollywood stars as well as members of our own Red Sox and Patriots. The Chris Fitz Band would like to thank the Farrelly Brothers for the honor of performing at this special event.
THE 2004 BLEWZZY AWARD
Residents of the City of Boston are going to be real happy with this year's winner. It's going to give their city a Triple Crown so to speak. Not only did their Red Sox win them a World Series (and I still cringe as I think of that), and not only did their Patriots win them a Super Bowl, but their premier blues band - THE CHRIS FITZ BAND - just won them the 2004 BLEWZZY.
Congratulations to the CHRIS FITZ band for the outstanding CD "THIS IS MY CHURCH". It was the best CD that I reviewed this year and you are the deserving winner of this years

2004 MUSIC AWARD!
The Blues Audience Magazine's 6th Annual Reader's Poll Awards has selected Chris Fitz "Outstanding Acoustic Musician" for 2004. The Blues Audience is a bimonthly newsletter that covers the entire New England Region's Blues News and Schedules for the area's top acts. The Reader's Poll Award is decided by fans only, and Chris would like to extend his humble appreciation to all those fans who voted. It is a true honor to receive this award. Thanks so much!
EUROPEAN TOUR A SMASHING SUCCESS!
We have recently completed our first European Tour. We played 12 shows throughout Belgium and Holland in venues that included the countries' top blues and music clubs, small theaters, and even a maximum security state prison in Antwerpen. To say it was a success would be a huge understatement. Not only did we have a blast, but we played to packed houses, made some great friends, drank gallons of great beer, sold lots of CDs, and came home with tons of new European fans. The booking agency, Surfing Airlines out of Belgium, was so pleased with the tour that we are already planning a 2005 tour that would expand into Germany, Sweden and England. Our thanks to all the great people of Belgium and Holland for making our first tour so successful. We can't wait to see you again.
